Monday Night Raw, Trip To Micro Center Mall, Beef Pho

A great couple of days recently. I took Friday off because I worked on MLK Day due to a client meeting. As such I was able to spend a day by myself doing what I wanted to do and it was glorious. If I could get one of these a quarter I’d feel so relaxed. All I knew was I didn’t want to spend the day trying to think of something to do, and I didn’t want it to be too involved that I had to put much thought into it. I also didn’t want to spend a lot of money, so no gun buying trip to Lexington or anything. If I could keep it simple but busy I would be fine.

Silverlake

I started the day off by going straight to our fitness club and swam a thousand meters. I love a great swim and I noticed this was much easier than in the past. I am doing a lot of upper body work at the gym and it definitely paid off. Wow, I wish I could get back in here regularly again. They close at 8 so I can’t do evening swims here anymore. I have morning duty getting the boys dressed and off to school so mornings are out of the question. This is just about the only time I can do it.

During the swim I had a nice chat with a retired man there about his work and what he used to do. He kind of grabbed me on a turn but I didn’t mind. There are lots of retired folks up there all hanging out during the day. The locker room was full of them, they all knew each other and this was just part of their routine. I’d love to retire young enough to be active but I fear I won’t do so until I’m all broken down and unhealthy. That’s why I am doing so much work and trying to be healthy right now, to prepare for old age.

After my swim I took a nice hot steam. I had it to myself and tried to relax and clear my mind. After that I took a nice hot shower and got the pool water off of me. I was feeling pretty worked over physically but I love a good workout. It just rinses the blues and anxiety right out of me.

Lunch

I was craving some Vietnamese food. This tends to be something that only I enjoy in my family so I wanted a chance to eat it. I didn’t want to eat alone so I called a friend who worked in the area and he met me. I was so happy he was willing to give me some time and hangout. He’s a great guy and we don’t get to hang out much now that I work from home in Northern Kentucky and very rarely get over into Cincinnati anymore. We caught up and had a great lunch. The food was delicious.

Micro Center Mall

Lastly I wanted to go to MCM and just look at everything there. I rarely get to do that with kids because one pulls everything off the shelves and the other runs away. Instead I looked at everything in there and I was there for like two hours. I purchased a new HDD for my computer so I can store my Steam games on them that I’m not playing. I will use the Steam transfer tool to move games to my SSD when I want to play them. I also bought a new monitor with speakers so I can set up retro gaming station in my basement. I got some other accessories for other random things I’m doing as well.

WWE Raw

I took a friend to WWE Monday Night Raw in Cincinnati and we had a great time. I try to see the show whenever they come into town. He got to experience that odd “suspension of dibelief” that comes with WWE. You know it’s a show, but the story telling and action can be so good that you completely forget. A few times he was like “woah” and I knew he was hooked. We had great seats and I got to boo one of the wrestlers I hate and I saw it got to him. There’s my little 15 seconds of fame LOL.
