Kings Island – Closing Weekend

Kings Island – Closing Weekend

I took my son to Kings Island for some one on one time with just him and myself. We had a blast. Kings Island had for their last weekend of the 2018 season a special “$1 Day”, and we took full advantage. We ate lots of hot dogs, pizza, and drank plenty of soft drinks. We also rode two of the three new rides he could try now since growing over 42 inches including Viking Fury, which was my favorite when I was younger. The drifting thunderstorms through the area didn’t hamper us and we, in our typical fashion, went hard for about eight hours that day. He also won a few prizes from the arcade so he left with a handful of stuff, including a plastic skull ring that he pretends is magic.

It was fun to finally get up there. We bypassed season passes for 2018 because of not having time with the new baby. Since my youngest will be big enough to be outside longer when the temps are higher, we decided to get passes again. One of the benefits of getting passes for 2019 is that you can use it at the end of the 2018 season including Memorial Day Weekend. It’s also good for Halloween Haunt and WinterFest, which technically kicks off 2019. This is also Gold Pass season, which means you get your pass and free parking all for $99. It’s a heck of a deal if you live close enough to Kings Island to go a few times a month.

I shot video of my son’s most favorite ride at Kings Island, “Boo Blasters on Boo Hill.” I linked to it in this post. Enjoy!
