Comics: The Batman Who Laughs

I subscribe to DC Comics Universe online now. Typically I read my comics digitally from Hoopla, a free service that my library offers, but found myself wanting to read issues they didn’t offer (it is a great service nonetheless). I chose the “Batman Who Laughs” simply because the character looks so crazy. If you are wondering who it is, it is Bruce Wayne. The story takes place after The Owls saga and centers around a material called Dark Metal that is hidden throughout earth as well as alternative universes that spawn from a single one that is based off of the fears of superheroes. At some point the Bruce Wayne’s of these universes converge into a single one to take on and supplant the heroes as their universes are destroyed. It imagines these different scenarios of Bruce Wayne’s life where he gets married, or doesn’t have his oath to not kill others, or has been infected with Joker serum after murdering him. It’s deeply imaginative and turns the super hero world upside down.
