Cub Scout Night At Perfect North Slopes

What a fun night with the Cub Scouts at Perfect North Slopes. We had a wonderful time snow tubing down the slopes. This is only the second time I’ve been to PNS but it was fun. T wants to come back and snowboard and I think that’s great. I would love to experience that with him, but I’ll most likely opt to learn how to ski instead. Perhaps this will be our 2024 project as a family. That is one thing that makes winter longer – the lack of winter sport. Where I live too the winter can get pretty boring, usually I’ll head out for a hike or get some fly fishing in just to break things up. The only problem is the trails are so muddy this time of year, and the only place to really fish is Brookville Tailwaters and the secret is definitely out on that one.

The Cub Scout event was fun, but next year when we come I’d like to be better organized. One mom who is part of the group disappeared and her son was upset because he couldn’t find her. She decided to go down the slope and didn’t tell us she was going out with her daughter. Eventually she showed up again but that added some more chaos on top of what was already pretty hectic, especially given the size of the crowds. I will say the night was more relaxed than the day, when we came in crowds were heading for the door so that was a win. I did talk to her and let know that in scouts each kid needs a chaperone who is a parent/guardian, Boy Scouts no problem but Cub Scouts it’s a different thing.

Bottom is my wife’s tea collection I organized. I took them out of all the boxes and used an organizer I had lying around. I’ve started drinking tea around 10:00 AM during the work week so it’s nice to just pop a bag out and throw it into some hot water. Tea is much easier to make than a cup of coffee (we don’t use K-cups AKA landfill fodder) and is less sugar than a Mountain Dew. So far I like green tea but struggle getting the water temp right so the tea doesn’t scorch.
