Broken Table

We had a fairly slow week, I wanted to take it easy given that Memorial Day is coming up and there will be much to do over those three days. My first note starts with a disappointment. We ordered a new outdoor dining set for our deck. This is the last piece of furniture we needed to add to the house. I’d hoped we’d have it set up so we could enjoy dining outside but the table top was cracked in several places. I cannot find out how it broken. I’m not sure if someone stepped on it or a forklift jammed into it or it just fell. I am thinking the delivery driver dropped it in the truck when he was unloading it. I heard something crash while I was waiting outside his truck. We have a replacement coming but it won’t be here before Memorial Day weekend.

Lunch Day With The Boys

I was able to spend a lunch session with the boys at their school. I can’t describe how important this is to me to be there for them in these little moments. I don’t want my boys to grow up kind of feeling on their own because their parents are unavailable so I try to be as present as I can be for these little moments. For Ben, I picked up some Skyline Chili for him. For Ted, Subway sandwiches. I got to meet some of their friends and watch them play.

New Griddle For Weber Grill

I absolutely love my propane Weber Grill. I received it as a wedding present from my mom so it has some special meaning for me. I tend to take really good care of it and keep it clean, replace components when they go bad, and keep it safe from the weather. I also like griddles but I did not want to purchase an entire new device. Weber thankfully makes an insert that works for my grill. I purchased it at Ace Hardware and installed it and made some fajitas on it. It was terrific! I look forward to making some hamburgers on it next. If you grill your hamburgers stop they are way better on cast iron for sure.
