Sea Island Georgia

We were recently treated to a free vacation to Sea Island, Georgia from my wife’s sister and brother-in-law. They treated the entire family to a week-long trip to an absolutely beautiful resort. To be honest I think this is the most generous gift ever given to me. I’m not sure how I could ever pay them back for it. I am glad I was able to come.

To be honest, there was some static I had to work through up to this trip. When the dates of the week were announced I immediately cringed. I knew it was happening during one of the busiest weeks in my work calendar, in the smack dab of a marathon delivery schedule on a very difficult project. I kind of put in the back of my mind, something to deal with and hope something would work out. Our in-laws, after finding out about the predicament, graciously offered to house us in a beautiful beach front condo at considerable expense so I could see the beach while I worked. This also enabled me to quickly visit the beach during lunchtime to see the children playing together, eat something, and go for a short swim. I am glad I could do this Monday through Thursday. Although I missed the flight down and decided to work through the beginning weekend and drive down. This enable me to have evenings free and carve out a Friday to be with everyone.

I will have more on the trip after the week wraps up, but I will say first that this place is absolutely beautiful. The condo is gorgeous, the beach is something you’d see on a postcard, and the facilities are picturesque and luxurious. I believe one night stay here costs as much as an entire week of a normal vacation budget for us, so I am going to soak up as much as I can in every minute that I can do it. The food we ate was also delicious and I can see why they love visiting here. It is a wonderful place.
