Technical Blog Launch – Hello World!

My first post on my new technical blog! I decided to hash out my thoughts on a weekly blog instead of just micro-blogging on X/Twitter only. I want a place to recap and demonstrate my findings and studies so far on technology and write about it. I can’t say I’ll always be on another social platform, but I will keep this blog as long as I can. I also like the idea of partitioning my technical writings from my personal writings so I can be clear on what I am trying to accomplish. I do plan on keeping the Notebooks for awhile too, kind of as a catch-all for subjects that I am interested in.

Currently I am in a really intellectually stimulating part of my life. My goals for 2024 include deep diving technology and getting really good at it. I want to be an expert in my chosen field, which is data engineering, and that will take a lot of work. The field itself is evolving more and more and will continue to in the future. So far it includes expertise in SQL, Python, some other programming language, ETL technologies, cloud technologies, dashboards and of course plenty of analysis, with the latter being my current expertise. I look forward to this journey and a fruitful year!
